Set in April 2020, A Mother’s Love traces the story of New Jersey middle school teacher Jeanette Remington. Having pivoted to remote instruction, Jeanette contracts coronavirus, and finds herself in an isolated hospital ward engaging in the fight of her life. Meanwhile, her husband and grown children are forced to grapple with “the new normal” as well as her mortality, along with the stifling distances that separate them. Each family member finds their moorings in the past to help navigate the uncertain future. In the end, the family grows stronger and all of the Remingtons appreciate the importance of A MOTHER'S LOVE.’

Like her protagonist, Carolyn Davis Cid’s number one priority is her growing family. She’s a wife, mother, grandmother, school teacher, and writer living in New Jersey who enjoys meeting new people and discovering similarities among us. Her adult children inspired Carolyn to write A Mother’s Love during the transition into the next chapter of her life. When not teaching or writing, Carolyn can be found outdoors gardening or walking with her chocolate Labrador, Coco.
