Meet the Team
Nicola Humber
Nicola Humber is the founder of The Unbound Press, author of transformational books, Heal Your Inner Good Girl, UNBOUND, Unbound Writing and creator of the #unbound365 journal.

After playing the archetypal good girl up until her mid-thirties, Nicola left her 'proper' job in finance to retrain as a coach and hypnotherapist and this leap of faith led her to on a twisty, turny path to what she does now: activating recovering good girls to embrace their so-called imperfections and shake off the tyranny of 'shoulds', so they can be their fullest, freest, most magnificent selves.
Nicola holds space for women to write the book their Unbound Self is calling them to write, whilst growing a community of soul-family readers and clients
‘Running The Unbound Press is a dream! As a child, I loved books and writing stories, so little Nicola is beyond happy that I now to get to do this every day.’
Em Mulholland
Em Mulholland is the Operations & Author Relations Magician and an in-house editor for The Unbound Press, having initially joined the team in 2020 as a freelance editor. She is a lifelong lover of books and words, having been an avid reader and writer since she first set eyes on a book (beginning with the heady heights of the Argos catalogue) and could hold a pen. She lives in the beautiful Peak District with her husband, their son and their two pampered house cats.

Em came to The Unbound Press after leaving life as a practising lawyer during lockdown – right after she also began training as a Shamanic Practitioner – so it felt very clear that Spirit had orchestrated this change in career direction to move her on to a path that is more soul-aligned.

Em supports authors from signing their publishing deal right up until the point of the book’s release and beyond, assisting with all aspects of the journey: this includes providing practical, technical and emotional support throughout the book birthing process, as well as working closely with Unbound’s designers, editors and our publishing platforms.

Outside of her role at The Unbound Press, Em continues to work with energy healing, freelance editing, content writing, academic authoring and the training of future lawyers. She is also the sub-editor, a columnist and a storyteller for Indie Shaman Magazine, and is currently in the process of birthing her own non-fiction and fiction books.

‘Working with The Unbound Press authors is incredible. To me their manuscripts are pure magic and getting to read them as part of my work is like a dream come true!’

Anna Bromley

Anna is also a shamanic teacher and healer, as well as a teacher of active dreamwork. She has wide ranging experience in alternative therapies, including shiatsu, reiki, kinesiology, herbs and homeopathy.
In a former life, Anna worked in publishing and R&D for the medical equipment industry. She is currently working on her third book, which is a magical novel for young adults.
‘I love working with Unbound Press authors because every one of their books is a transformational jewel, which by synchronicity, brings me the exact gem of learning that I need in my life at that time.’
Jesse Lynn Smart
Jesse Lynn Smart is originally from California but has called Avalon home for over a decade now (otherwise known as Glastonbury). Jesse has been a bookworm since age three – when her mama taught her to read – and a massive written-word-nerd since not long after that. So, it was a logical next step for Jesse to transmute her love of reading and writing into working as an editor! Jesse met Nicola several years ago – she has no recollection of how or when, it just happened organically and magically, as the best things often do. After meeting Nicola, Jesse fell in love with The Unbound Press and began working with the team.
The idea of helping to uplift women’s voices through working with the Unbound Press speaks to Jesse’s heart as both a feminist and a woman – because women are pure magic!! She feels honoured to be part of the book-birthing process for so many beautiful, powerful, wild and unbound women.
When Jesse isn’t editing for the Unbound Press, you’ll find her with her nose buried in a book (usually some form of fantasy fiction!), cuddling her chonky little tyrant (her cat, PK), and listening to Taylor Swift. You can find Jesse on Instagram as FaeryJessReads.
‘I love working with Unbound Press authors because they inspire us as women to embrace ourselves wholly and live authentically.’
Leah Kent
Leah Kent is a book coach, author, and designer who helps wisdom keepers, creative visionaries and holistic healers write and publish transformational books about their work in the world.
A lifelong writer, she became a book coach and book designer after self-publishing more than 40 journals and her first non-fiction book in less than a year. This immediately illuminated how independent and author-owned publishing could beautifully support the need for more women to share their unique voice and insights by committing them to the pages of a book.
As a designer, Leah taps into the energetic blueprint of the author and their book. By understanding the essential energy of your book, the design process leads to a visual design that mirrors and amplifies these qualities. She believes that a well-designed book makes it easier for the reader to enjoy and absorb your message, so they can have that transformational experience you hope for.
Leah is the creator of the Wild Embodied Writing method and the author of a number of books, including Awakening the Visionary Voice and Intuitive Moon Rituals. When she isn’t writing or designing, you can find her making flower essences in her native herbal garden in the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts.

‘I love that working with Unbound authors is a free-flowing and authentically creative experience. Each individual has a powerful story to tell, and it's an honor to play a part in bringing their voice and wisdom into the world.’
Lynda Mangoro
Lynda Mangoro is an artist, designer and illustrator whose passion is capturing the beauty she sees and feels in the world both around her and within her, translating it into creations that bring a touch of magic to the beholder. This has led to a wide range of creations, from landscapes to portraits and websites to graphic design.

Starting out in web design, Lynda soon realised that the corporate world stifled her creativity and set out to use her creative passion to assist other soul-led entrepreneurs and authors with sharing their gifts with the world – all while raising her four sons and making her own rules.

Since writing and publishing her own children’s books, Lynda has turned her attention to using her skills to help other authors to birth their books by designing book covers and interiors and illustrating children’s books.

Lynda works intuitively and connects beautifully with each author to create designs that perfectly embody them and their books.

‘I adore working with The Unbound Press, not only because their values align so perfectly with my own, and not only because it is a joy to work alongside such a beautiful team, but also because I get to connect with so many like-minded and like-hearted authors, all of whom I now consider dear friends.’
